A Fox News Sunday commentator has ripped Elon Musk for spearheading the purge of thousands of federal workers while raking in millions a day in government funding.
On a panel led by the host Shannon Bream on the channel, Marie Harf, a former government spokesperson and adviser to former Secretary of State John Kerry, hit out at the lack of care shown in mass dismissals.
“Elon Musk has fired tens of thousands of government workers. Well, every day, personally, his business is getting $8 million of government funding,” she began.

The figure of $8 million per day emerged at a hearing in the House of Representatives earlier this month when Democrat Rep. Greg Casar accused Republicans of overlooking government contracts with SpaceX.
According to a report by The Independent, Musk has been promised or awarded nearly $21 billion in the last 17 years.
Harf, outraged by Musk’s actions at the Department of Government Efficiency, also pointed out that many of the cuts had disregarded public safety and put vulnerable people at serious risk.
“They are firing people working on bird flu, FAA safety officers— after all of these plane crashes— [and] a thousand veterans affairs employees, including disabled military vets,” she continued.
She also pointed to a report released by DOGE earlier this week claiming it had made $55 billion in savings that later proved to be misleading and inaccurate.
“They put out this ridiculous spreadsheet that had a ton of errors in it, making public servants across the country, not just in Washington, seem dishonorable. Turning that into a dishonorable profession is cruel.”
“When we see federal workers waking up at 2 a.m. not knowing how the people that make $50,000 a year in Nebraska, not knowing if they will be able to feed their children, because they could get an email from Elon Musk,” she continued.
“This is not about efficiency. This is a vendetta.”
Harf also warned Republican strategists that they would soon see the results of their mass firings, with an election for the new governor of Virginia set to take place later this year.
“I think it will have electoral consequences across the country,” she said, adding that many federal workers had been fired in Virginia alone.
Harf’s rant left her fellow panelists in shock as they watched her outburst in total silence.
